Father's Day!

Father's Day is the day when we honor our dads for all they have done for us over the years. And given that Father's Day occurs during the beautiful weather of summer there is no better way to honor all the dads out there then with a BBQ and a specially crafted beverage with the man of the day in mind.

Fossil Creek's Dad's Beer
(Serves 6)

We've said it before and we will say it again every BBQ deserves a great beer. And your Father's Day BBQ is no exception. This year honor your dad with this special recipe that brings extra freshness to your classic beer.

Ingredients:
3 bottles of 11.2 ounce chilled Hoegaarden beer
1 (12 ounce) chilled ginger beer
1 thinly sliced lemon
Mint sprigs, for garnish

Instructions:

Combine Hoegaarden and ginger beer in a large pitcher. Stir in most lemon slices and mint sprigs. Fill 6 glasses with ice. Add remaining lemon slices to glasses and pour in shandy. Garnish each drink with a mint sprig and serve.

Fossil Creek's Father's Day Ice Tea Twist
(Serves 4)

Your friends at Fossil Creek realize that some of our dad's have more refined taste and for those dad's we offer this recipe for iced tea with a twist

Ingredients:
½ cup fresh mint leaves
3 green tea bags
2 tablespoons of honey
4 cups of boiling water
2 cups of sake, divided
4 maraschino cherries
4 stalks of lemongrass for garnish

Instructions:

Combine mint leaves, tea bags, honey and boiling water. Let steep for five minutes and then remove the tea bags. Refrigerate until chilled. Divide among 4 large ice-filled glasses. Add ½ cup of sake to each glass. Garnish with a stalk of lemongrass.

Fossil Creek's Bloody Mary for Dad
(Serves 4)

If you're having brunch with dad this Father's Day try Fossil Creek's take on the Bloody Mary. This one is formulated extra spicy for the more adventurous dads out there.

Ingredients:
3 large ripe tomatoes, cut into wedges
¼ cups of lemon juice
2 jalapenos, stemmed and seeded
1 teaspoon of prepared horseradish
1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon of sugar ½ teaspoon of celery salt
½ teaspoon ground pepper
6 ounces or ¾ cup of Absolut Vodka
4 caperberries or large green olives for garnish
4 pickled dilly beans for garnish

Instructions:

Puree tomatoes in a blender with lemon juice, jalapenos, horseradish to taste, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, celery salt and pepper, scraping down the sides as necessary. Stir in Absolut Vodka. Refrigerate until chilled for about 2 hours. Divide among 4 ice filled glasses. Spear caperberries (or olives) and dilly beans on toothpicks to garnish the drinks.
